Berner Grabs Conway The Machine, Jay Worthy, Paul Wall & More For “The Farmer’s Market”

One thing about a fair amount of West Coast rappers is that they know how to drop chill and relaxing tracks. Berner is one of those artists and he is doing just that on his newest project The Farmer’s Market. The veteran who hails from San Francisco, California is back with his first record of the year and is following up a bustling 2023. It was period in which he dropped two albums being Trophies and Arrogance Is Ignorance (One Shot Kill).

Berner did not release any promotional singles for The Farmer’s Market, which is a different approach compared to his collab tape with OHGEESY, Trophies. However, what he lacks in teaser tracks, he makes up for in the feature department. On this effort, Berner taps rappers from all over to help bring that similar laid-back tone. On here, you will find names like Conway the Machine, Paul Wall, Jay Worthy, Curren$y and more.

Tracks were are messing with so far include “Cases” with the Buffalo MC Conway and “Mouth Piece” with Jay Worthy. The latter has a glitzy, luxurious, and transcendent instrumental that feels like a throwback to the 90s. “Cases” picks up the energy a little with a looping piano and background vocals. Be sure to check out the album with the links above.

BbyMutha Delivers Her Experimentative Album “Sleep Paralysis”

If you have not heard of BbyMutha, you need to get hip right away. The Chattanooga, Tennessee rapper is bringing a refreshing sound to the current trap heavy scene in the South. The 34-year-old feels like that fun aunt in your family with how goofy and carefree she portrays herself in her music. Releasing material since 2017, her style has only gotten more experimental and trippier over the years. All that creativity has brought BbyMutha to this point in dropping maybe her best work to date with sleep paralysis.

Earlier this year in February, we got word that she would coming through with this project through press release. On the same day of that news, she went on to drop one of the album’s promotional tracks “go!” Furthermore, we can officially say that BbyMutha is now on her self-titled tour. It will run through June 2 and will also see her travel across the pond, a surely exciting thing for relatively small artist.

Listen To Sleep Paralysis By BbyMutha

Across this album, the expressive MC is delivering some incredibly rich and colorful beats. Surprisingly, BbyMutha only brought on two producers for it. Those two names inlcude J-Rick and Rock Floyd. Big ups to them for getting wacky and presenting some truly unheard of production. BbyMutha does not get lost in the fold though that much either. Outside of “piss!” there really is not a track that she takes a backseat to. Be sure to run up sleep paralysis with the links above.

Mozzy Pens Street Stories Across “CHILDREN OF THE SLUMS”

Prolific Sacramento, California rapper Mozzy has just come back with a new album for the first time in nearly two years with CHILDREN OF THE SLUMS. Over the last six months or so, he began the rollout for the project with “IF I DIE RIGHT NOW” back in October. Then, in November, he would return with “FREE JUJU,” and then conclude the promotional singles in March with “JADED.” On the independently released record, Mozzy taps Fridayy, Eric Bellinger, fellow Mozzy Records signees E Mozzy and Celly Ru, and Afira.

If you are an Apple Music listener, you will find one platform-specific edition. In addition to the 17 songs, Mozzy included four music videos for “MISS BIG BRUH,” “JADED,” “FREE JUJU,” and “IF I DIE RIGHT NOW.” Furthermore, there is an instrumental only version. Part of the reason for the uncharacteristic gap in between projects was due to Mozzy’s arrest in 2022. He was dealt with a federal gun charge and served 10 months at the United States Penitentiary Atwater. On top of that, he was released for a second shorter stint in July 2023 for a shooting that occurred in Kansas at a club that he performed at.

In a recently published interview with XXL, Mozzy went on to explain that he did not feel like talking about those legal issues on CHILDREN OF THE SLUMS. He expressed his lack of interest overall, in “glorify[ing] my L’s.” “And I feel like that was a big L, but everything happens for a reason and I used it to my advantage. To sit down, reflect, make some new material, and here you have it CHILDREN OF THE SLUMS.”

Beverly Hills, California producer extraordinaire The Alchemist is back to revive an old hip-hop group of his. Gangrene is an outfit that consists of himself and fellow Californian Oh No. Together they form the duo called Gangrene. They have been collaborating with each other since 2010 and have lots of chemistry in the studio. However, the last record we heard from these masterful artists came back in 2015 with You Disgust Me. But that all changes today, as The Alchemist and Oh No are here with their fourth project Heads I Win, Tails You Lose.

They did release one single for Heads I Win at the beginning of April with “Oxnard Water Torture,” which is the city in which Oh No resides. The rapping is also a highlight with both contributing in that department as well. Intricate rhymes and deliberate flows are the name of the game in this case.

Underground and experimental rapper Pink Siifu has always been trying out unique techniques to deliver music that is truly separate from the rest of the genre. The Alabama born and Cincinnati-raised MC has been doing well for himself since 2017 operating in this manner. The last project we heard from him dropped back on Halloween in 2023 called IT’S TOO QUIET..’!! Now, Pink Siifu is returning with a new album called GOT FOOD AT THE CRIB’! with an exclusive release to Bandcamp.

Siifu is not just doing this once either. On his Instagram, he revealed that there will be another volume coming in the near future, possibly this year. Part of the reason he might have gone in this direction could be based on this statement he posted on his account recently. “ALL THESE NXGGAS NEED BETTA HELP CRAFTING THEY ALBUMS’!! GOT THA WHOLE WORLD TO HELP THEM MAKE SOME S*** WE DOIN W THA SAME 4-7 NXGGAS’!! WE THA NXGGAS YALL FAVS WANNA BE’!!”

Shabaka Composes An Incredible New Age Experience Across His Debut Album “Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace”

Shabaka has been a steady figure in the world of new age and jazz for about seven years or so and is highly respected. What is really impressive about that is the fact that the Londoner has not dropped a project yet. That is until this weekend, as Shabaka has just come through with his debut album, Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace. For this first official LP, he did not cheap out on the features and truly giving this project all of his soul and energy.

For example, the listed features are plentiful. Moses Sumney lands on “Innocence,” one of the three singles for Perceive Its Beauty. Shabaka also went and got Floating Points, rapper E L U C I D, as well as Saul Williams. However, the credits behind the scenes were also a major priority for Shabaka on Perceive Its Beauty. Andre 3000, who everyone knows tried his hand pretty successfully in this same space on New Blue Sun, is listed as a flute performer.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new debut album Perceive Its Beauty, Acknowledge Its Grace by Shabaka? What is the best song on the LP? Summrs Tides Fans Over With 7-Track Collection “B4DARAVEN”

For some reason it seems rappers from the beautiful Southern state of Louisiana have the most drive and work ethic. What we mean by that is that they are always dropping multiple projects per year. Or they have been going strong for decades, like Lil Wayne for example, and have a massive discography built up. NBA YoungBoy is the modern version of Weezy in that sense, but someone who is close to YB in that regard is Summrs. Coming up sort of around that same time, he has a much different sound than the hardcore style of NBA. He takes a more fun and vibey approach to his music and that is certainly the case on this new project in front of us.

Over the weekend, Summrs dropped off his first project of 2024 with B4DARAVEN. According to Genius, this is rumored to be a sequel to a larger album TALE OF DA RAVEN. We are still awaiting a release date on that. So, to hold people over until then, Summrs gave his supporters a seven-song tape with no features. In case you were wondering, this is now his 10th project since 2018.

There was not much of a buildup for B4DARAVEN. Apparently, Summrs announced this offering via an Instagram story on April 10, before releasing it on the 12th. For die-hard fans of Summrs, he is comparing this listening experience to his previous EP in 2021, What We Have, as well as an album from that same year, Nothing more Nothing LESS. Baby Rose & BADBADNOTGOOD Team Up For Vibrant New EP “Slow Burn”

North Carolina-based singer Baby Rose already has multiple projects under her belt. The R&B darling has collaborated with the likes of Erick The Architect, Big K.R.I.T, and Ari Lennox. But her new project is an unexpected collaboration that digs deeper than any of her previous team-ups. She and Canadian jazz trio BADBADNOTGOOD just dropped a new 6-track EP called Slow Burn. The project was led off by the song “One Last Dance” back in March. The song has racked up nearly 1.5 million streams on Spotify in less than a month since its release.

Now the full project is out and it adds up to 23 minutes of material spread across 6 tracks. The sound of the EP is a relaxed and vintage vibe that fittingly finds a midpoint between BBNG’s smooth jazz side and Baby Rose’s soulful demeanor. Highlights like opener “On My Mind” show off what makes Rose’s voice so unique. And on the track “Caroline” she teams up with Mereba to show off how well her singing pairs with other vocalists. Check out the poised and vibrant sounds of their new Slow Burn EP below.

BADBADNOTGOOD are no strangers to unconventional collaborations. Back un 2015 they teamed up with Wu-Tang rapper Ghostface Killah for an entire collaborative album called Sour Soul. The project features appearances from artists like Danny Brown, MF DOOM, and more. Late last year the band was part of a huge collaboration. They teamed up with Griselda rappers Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine as well as 88RISING project 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE for a massive posse cut called “Mint Chocolate.”

Future And Metro Boomin Return With New Album “We Still Don’t Trust You”

Future and Metro Boomin are back in action with a brand-new album just three weeks after dropping their highly acclaimed We Don’t Trust You. The dynamic duo continue the chemistry today with the release of We Still Don’t Trust You. The 25-track project dose of their signature sound. It’s comprised of 18 tracks on Disc 1 and 7 tracks on Disc 2. Social media could hardly wait for this project to drop. And so far, it’s living up to expectations.

The first instillation of We Don’t Trust You marked a milestone for Future and Metro Boomin, serving as their first full-length album together. The project garnered widespread praise, with standout tracks like “Like That,” featuring Kendrick Lamar’s infamous guest verse that captured the attention of fans and critics alike. Moreover, his verse sparked a feud since he threw shots at J. Cole and Drake. Furthermore, We Still Don’t Trust You is coming in hot with a lineup that’s straight fire, featuring heavyweight collabs with top dogs like The Weeknd on the title track. Surprisingly J. Cole makes an appearance on “Red Leather,” after dropping his return-diss track just a week ago. Moreover, J. Cole took back all his comments and praised Kendrick Lamar at Dreamville fest.

They’re pushing the boundaries, continuing to fuel the beef, and we’re here for every second of it. Moreover, despite the recent success of We Don’t Trust You, Future and Metro Boomin wasted no time in striking while the iron is hot. The duo’s decision to release a second album so soon after the first speaks volumes about their creative energy and dedication to their craft.

In addition, speculation initially arose that this drop was going to be the deluxe edition of We Don’t Trust You. However, Metro Boomin quickly put these rumors to rest, confirming that the new album is an entirely separate body of work. What’s your favorite track so far? Let us know on HNHH!

Chris Brown Gifts Fans With A Deluxe Version Of “11:11” Album

Chris Brown has more to say. Five months after releasing 11:11, the R&B singer is back with a deluxe version of the album. This deluxe version features 13 more songs and a plethora of new features. It also includes the track “Freak,” which has been getting lots of buzz online due to its perceived lyrical shots at Migos and rapper Quavo, in particular. It appears Drake and Kendrick Lamar aren’t the only superstars who want to go to war in 2024.

11:11 was a hugely successful release, spawning the hit single “Summer Too Hot” and earning Brown a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance. The deluxe version looks to keep the hot streak going. It boasts a stacked list of guest stars that include Joyner Lucas, Tea Grizzly, and Bryson Tiller. There’s also going to be a Lil Wayne verse on “Freak,” which bodes very well given the track record Breezy and Weezy have together. As was previously noted, though, most of the attention on “Freak” has spawned from Brown’s combative lyrics.

Chris Brown’s “11:11” Deluxe Has 13 New Songs

“Ok, now f***in’ my old b****es ain’t gone make us equal,” Brown raps. “Sippin’ that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Quavo. Freak b***h, she Casamigos not the Migos.” This isn’t the first time the singer has publicly discussed his issues with Quavo. Brown reportedly argued with all three members of Migos at the 2017 BET Awards, and Offset threatened to “smack the s**t” out of Brown on a 2019 Instagram Story. It all stems from the fact that Quavo briefly dated Brown’s ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, in 2017. “Freak” is the definite standout on the 11:11 deluxe version, with the rest being the standard R&B/pop fodder one would expect from Brown.

What do you think of the deluxe version of Chris Brown’s latest album, 11:11? Do you think it’s a better batch of songs than the standard version? Do you think Quavo is going to respond to the “Freak” diss? Whatever the case, let us know your thoughts down in the comments section below.
